2018 Kettering Business Awards 2018
Wow! What an amazing night we had last Friday!
Friday the 5th October was the 1st Kettering Business Awards and what a fantastic night we had. It has been a hard slog over the past 6 months arranging the awards. Many people, including us, didn’t quite realise the amount of work that goes into arranging an event like this.
It all began around 6 months ago when Simon Cox from Red Octagon and Kerry Bate from Polka Dot Events approached us and asked us if we would like to become one of the organisers arranging the first Kettering Business Awards. Well, we just had to say yes! A chance to celebrate all the local businesses that work so hard was a no-brainer for us.
So what started as a chat in a local coffee shop became an amazing awards ceremony with over 140 people attending and 9 business awards categories.
But lets take a step back and look at the work involved.
The logo concept was the easiest of them all. We knew we wanted a nice logo that stood out and would work year in year out. The website was another kettle of fish. As it was the first event, we didn’t know how many people would enter or vote in the awards but we had to make it so it worked well and could handle however successful the awards were to become.
A voting system that was easy for people to vote was born and we had over 7000 votes in total. Counting them was a chore I’ll have to admit !
While we were working in the background with the logo, design of the leaflets to advertise the awards, the website and voting system, Kerry and Simon had the job of starting to make arrangements, arrange sponsorship and sorting the venue out. So hats off to Kerry who worked so hard on organising it all in the background, and Simon for managing the social media.
What did we create for the awards?
We are so proud to add the Business Awards work to our portfolio. We created the following for this event:
- The Kettering Awards Logo and individual logos for winners, finalists and runners up
- Award Website with voting functionality
- Collating votes
- Leaflets used to advertise entering the awards
- Social media artwork
- Magazine adverts to advertise the awards
- Goodie bag design

- 27 single certificate design and printing
- PowerPoint presentation design
